eorgias state government, like our federal govern-
ment, has three branches: executive, legislative, and
judicial. The tasks of these branches are, in many
ways, like those branches of the federal government.
That is, the executive branch enforces laws, the legislative branch
enacts laws, and the judicial branch interprets laws. And, like the
federal government, Georgias local and state governments to-
gether are a massive enterprise providing employment for many
of Georgias citizens.
